Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of Jeff Scott Soto One Night in Madrid in CD and DVD formats on December 4tin Europe and January 12 in the USA.
This live performance will set Jeff Scott Soto's outstanding career in context. It is a road-map through a journey spanning more than twenty-five years that begun with college bands and culminated as front-man for the ever popular 'Journey' taking in Talisman, Soul SirkUS and the band that lifted his career into the consciousness of rock fans across the world – Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force.
His first solo album, 'Love Parade' was released almost 15 years ago in the mid 90s and was picked up by Frontiers Records and re-released in 2002 to coincide with his appearance at 'The Gods' Festival. Since then Jeff has released three stunning albums; 'Prism' (2003), 'Lost In The Translation' (2004) and his latest offering 'Beautiful Mess' produced with Paulo Mendonça and released on download in 2008. Released as a CD in February 2009, JSS toured 'Beautiful Mess' across the USA, Europe and South America showing fans a brand new direction as well as a new line-up featuring Jorge Salan on guitar, BJ on guitar and keyboards, Fernando Mainer on bass and Edu Cominato on drums.
As a grand finale to the tour this concert in Madrid, in front of a packed and enthusiastic audience, was taped for a release that could portray the artist as he is today with a set-list that showcases Jeff's long and successful musical career including many favourites from his past & present, including a cut from the motion picture "Rock Star" as well as selections from all his solo albums including 'Love Parade', 'Prism', 'Lost In The Translation' and his outstanding work with 'Talisman'.
Clocking in at approximately 2½ hours, these specially packaged CD and DVD capture the stunning performance of the show!

Hoje recebi um telefonema emocionado do meu amigo Jeff Scott Soto, mas infelizmente não foi para dar uma boa notícia. Era pra comunicar sobre a perda de um grande amigo, que também conheci e tive a sorte de tocar com ele algumas vezes.
Se trata de um dos maiores baixistas do mundo do Rock, Mr. Marcel Jacob, que sempre foi um dos mais respeitados no seu estilo desde quando tocava com Yngwie Malmsteen nos anos 80, quando conheceu Jeff Scott Soto e posteriormente formou uma das mais inovadoras e competentes bandas do hard rock na minha opinião, o Talisman. Conheci Marcel em 2007 nos Shows do Talisman no Brasil e depois nos encontramos na Tour do Tempestt em 2008 em alguns shows pela Itália no qual fizemos várias Jams sessions e nos divertimos muito. Marcel iria ser convidado pra fazer uma participação no próximo disco do Tempestt, mas infelizmente não tivemos tempo.
Deixo aqui minha mais sincera tristeza por essa perda, e principalmente por meu irmão Jeff que está sofrendo muito com esse ato repentino de Marcel ter tirado sua própria vida.
Estamos todos chocados, e com uma dor muito grande.

Michael Jackson

Um dos principais vocalistas do Hard Rock brasileiro e frontman da banda TEMPESTT, B.J., foi mais um dos inúmeros artistas que se comoveram com o falecimento da lenda do Pop, Michael Jackson, que morreu no último dia 25 de junho, aos 50 anos de idade. O cantor soltou uma nota oficial, falando sobre a lacuna deixada pelo ídolo, que pode ser conferida logo abaixo na íntegra:
"Sou muito suspeito pra falar, sou fã incodicional do cara, não importa o que dizem que ele se tornou de uns anos pra cá. Pra mim, o mundo perdeu o maior ícone da música de todos os tempos! É como perder Charles Chaplin, Mozart, dentre outras grandes personalidades da humanidade. Uma perda irreparável e insubstituível! Claro que posso citar outros insubstituíveis como Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Jimmi Hendrix, e tantos mais, todavia, Michael além de influenciar várias gerações, é responsável por mudar todo o conceito da indústria musical em seu tempo, com composições sensacionais, vídeo-clipes incrivelmente inovadores e, claro, musicalmente foi um gênio, batendo todos os recordes de vendas dos seus álbuns! Ele partiu muito cedo, como todos os gênios que passaram por esse mundo!! Tristeza máxima! Obrigado Michael".

Fala galera! Desculpe a falta de posts atualizados, mas andei bastante ocupado e não consegui parar pra atualizar o blog. Bom, pra começar vou falar que a tour com meu amigo e mentor Jeff Scott Soto foi incrível! Passamos por vários países da Europa como Holanda, Alemanha, Bélgica, Hungria, Bulgaria, Grécia, Itália, Espanha e outros.... Muitas aventuras das mais variadas possíveis, e grandes shows, todos lotados e gravação de um DVD Live em Madrid com ingressos esgotados! A banda se entrosou muito facilmente, desde o início, e depois de apenas 3 ensaios na Alemanha, começamos a tour. A banda é formada por dois espanhóis e dois brasileiros: B.J. e Edu Cominato(Brasil) e Jorge Salán e Fernando Mainer( Espanha). Parecia que nos conheciamos a muito tempo, os espanhóis são grandes músicos e pessoas fantásticas! Tocar com o Jeff pra mim será sempre um aprendizado, ele me surpreende a cada show! Agora será a vez do Brasil receber os shows da Beautiful Mess World Tour 2009 nos dias:

Depois da minha volta da tour com Jeff, tive que me preparar para alguns shows na Europa com o Tempestt, e algumas semanas depois voltei para o velho mundo pra cumprir esses compromissos ja firmados da Bring 'Em On tour na Suiça e Alemanha. É muito f* saber que o primeiro cd nos abriu tantas portas fora do Brasil e quantos fans nos conquistamos, e essa foi a terceira vez fomos pra Europa em apenas um ano! Voltamos da Europa com 3 shows pré marcados na Suiça e 3 na Alemanha para o ano que vem quando estaremos fazendo a divulgação do novo cd que sai no final do ano. O Tempestt fará agora dia 10/06 um show juntamente com o Rafael Bittencourt project no Blackmore rock bar, convido a todos porque será imperdível!

Tour News, New Band & Live DVD Info!!

We are pleased to announce the 1st leg of the JSS Beautiful Mess World Tour 2009 beginning Apr 1st in Europe. Negotiations have begun for a run through South America as well as select dates in North America with stops appearing on a few of the big festivals this Summer. Show dates/info will appear here shortly.

Part 2 of the big announcement is an all new JSS line-up. "I am truly introducing my new sound & album with a select pick of players I know will add the dynamic the music calls for” says Jeff. “I thank my regular cast of bandits, Howie Simon/Gary Schutt/Dave Dzialak, for being there with me so many years & will keep them in place for the classic JSS show needs if/when they come up. But the new guys seem to fit where I am heading now”.

On lead guitar is Jorge Salan, the youngblood hotshot from Madrid, who Jeff met through his many tours through Spain. Jeff even contributed vocals on 1 track for Jorge’s 2007 solo album Chronicles Of An Evolution in which Jeff 1st discovered this fresh new talent.

Brought along on bass from Jorge’s solo band is Fernando Mainer who has played with a popular Spanish band Tako along with many others from his native land.

New drummer, Edu Cominato, hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Edu has toured as Jeff’s drummer throughout Brazil as well as his own band, Tempestt, where they shared stages throughout Europe on a JSS introduced/guest tour for Tempestt back in 2008.

And the addition to the line-up is a 5th member for the 1st time simply named BJ, also from the band Tempestt, will serve as 2nd guitarist/keyboardist for the new band.

More news to report, JSS will shoot a new, full headline show for DVD in Madrid on April 18th, with Jorge’s solo band as support for the show. Jorge too will be shooting a live DVD in which Jeff will guest on the number, No Salvation, which he sang on ‘Chronicles…’. This will be the 1st full live show on DVD as the only other live DVD from the Gods show in 2002 was a limited setlist. An update about the Firefest show/DVD, it has been decided it will NOT be released as there was a conflict of interest between the parties involved. JSS regrets any disappointment from those looking forward to it.

The new show will consist primarily of JSS solo material with the blend of expected numbers from Jeff’s past. “I am having a blast creating the new setlist as now I have 4 solo albums under my belt & familiar material for days to have fun with live. But I won’t forget the numbers that make everyone stand up & shout!”.
